As a full-service criminal defense attorney, I offer comprehensive legal representation and defense for virtually all criminal charges.  Additionally, I provide my clients with a level of support not available from public defenders and many other criminal lawyers.  A DUI charge, for example, mandates a complicated series of steps by the defendant, the failure of any one of which to execute possibly resulting in higher fines, increased jail time and longer suspension of driving privileges.  Unlike many defenders, I take the time to spell out to my clients exactly what they need to do and by when to ensure the best possible outcome, both when contesting charges and when pleaing out.

Since 1999, I have been practicing solely in criminal defense.  After graduating with honors from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California in 1999, I was admitted to the State Bar of California, and served as a public defender in two counties.  In 2003 I began a private criminal defense practice in Truckee, California.  I have served numerous clients in a broad array of cases, and have consistently represented their best interests and ensured the best possible outcomes to their cases.

DUI Defense Lawyer

Criminal Defense

I have successfully defended against almost every kind of crime that can be charged in California, including allegations as serious as manslaughter, rape, and felony assault, to possession, transportation and possession for sale of every kind of drug, as well as driving under the influence, domestic violence, and violations of the business and professions code for unlawful licensing activities.

Marijuana Defense

Since 1999 I have successfully defended those charged with such crimes as Cultivation, Transportation and Possession with intent to sell marijuana. I have assisted people in perfecting and raising a valid medical marijuana defense (under the provisions of Health and Safety Code section 11362.5 et. seq.) in cases where charges have already been filed, and I have advised hundreds of individuals in how to avoid detection and prosecution for conducting medical marijuana businesses.

Misdemeanors and Felonies

Misdemeanor crimes are punishable by a maximum term of incarceration in the county jail of one year or less. Felony crimes are punishable by a state prison term or death. State prison terms can be determinate (such as four years) or indeterminate (such as 25 years to life) depending on the severity of the charges and a defendant’s criminal record.
